Interesting name too Street_rat. The guy I just bought the 80sg from customized it some to look like a "rat" bike. I'll post pics soon here of both my bikes. Unfortunately, or not, the "rat" bike will be further modified this winter. The 79sf is the daily."If it weren't for a budget I'd be bored."

I've been thinking of naming my '79 xs11fs "Ratzilla" since I don't plan on doing too much cosmetically for a while (Gotta know that the ride works before I make it shine).

No such luck. It would be a nice little curiosity to own.
the only '82 I have is stamped 3X1 004052 complianced stamped 6/82. Thats what I am going to use on the trike.

well i got a 79 xs1100 standard and i like the xs so i am going to just keep it and my dad has a 81 xs1100 special i just like the way the old bike look i am a standard kind of motorcycle guy i aint much for cruisers or crotchrockets so the xs is perfect for me and it is still fast79 yamaha xs1100f standard
